October 31, 2008 | Download News Release (PDF, 396kb)CALGARY, AB, Canada (October 31, 2008) - Petrotranz Inc.'s Crude Oil Transportation System (COTS), the first web-based communication and collaboration platform for the Crude Oil Transportation Industry, has seen a dramatic increase in the number of users since its launch in February 2008. Petrotranz COTS automates the manual processes and documentation required in the transportation of crude oil from wellhead to market.
Companies of all sizes are recognizing the benefits of automating the forecasting process, given the impact throughout their organizations. Automating the forecasting process not only improves the continuity of information flow within the Producing company but also lowers the risks involved in the transmission of forecast information to the associated Facility Operators (pipelines, cleaning plants, truck terminals). By receiving the forecast electronically, the Facility Operator eliminates the risks involved in missed information or data re-entry and improves the continuity of information flow within their organization.

A fax machine misses a forecast by transmitting 2 pages at once or a page goes missing and the potential result is hundreds of thousands of dollars of missed revenue, increased costs, and severed business relationships. With the technological advances available today, the reliance on spreadsheets and fax machines can be minimized."
With the increased number of users and through close consultation and feedback, Petrotranz released today several new features and functional improvements for COTS.
